On April 11–12, 2025, the Scout Troop of SD Strada Cakung held a Junior Scout camping activity at the school. This event was attended by 156 fifth and sixth grade students, divided into boys’ and girls’ patrols, participating with great enthusiasm and high spirits.

The camp aimed to foster independence, teamwork, and to strengthen love for nature and the nation. The event was officially opened by Ms. Yuliana Supriyati, the TK/SD Strada Bekasi Supervisor, who encouraged all participants to join the activities with passion, discipline, and to maintain their health throughout the camp.

The first day began with room assignments and an opening ceremony. Participants learned to organize and tidy up their sleeping and resting areas. This was followed by Scout Technique competitions held around the SD Strada Cakung campus. The children learned to read directional clues in order to follow a route set by the committee. Along the way, they faced various challenge stations such as pioneering, semaphore, first aid (PPGD), Kim’s Game, general knowledge, marching drills (LKBBT), and group chants (yells). These activities not only enhanced their scouting skills but also tested their physical and mental endurance. Here, the children also learned the importance of teamwork within their patrols.

After a lunch break, the students continued with Wide Games, divided into several stations, including chain story, dragon tail, flour relay, water relay using spoons, and crawling challenges. The students were very enthusiastic and fully engaged in the games.

That evening, a campfire was held — the highlight of the event. Each patrol performed cultural-themed stage performances such as dramas and traditional dances. This was followed by a reflection session, creating a heartfelt atmosphere. Many participants realized how important family is in our lives.

The second day featured a “semut operation” (clean-up activity) and announcement of awards. Participants received recognition in various categories such as “Most Environmentally Friendly,” “Most Creative,” “Most Caring Toward Friends,” and many others.

This Junior Scout Camp provided an unforgettable experience for all participants. Besides strengthening friendships among students, the event instilled values of honesty, responsibility, discipline, independence, and patriotism. Hopefully, activities like this will continue to be held and become an essential part of building strong character in the younger generation. (AY)
