On Friday, 9 January 2026, Strada Cakung Elementary School and Kindergarten held a
joyful Christmas and New Year ceremony. The event was attended by students, teachers,
and school staff. The ceremony began at 7:00 a.m. and was held in the Strada Cakung Hall,
which was beautifully decorated with Christmas ornaments such as lights, ribbons, and a
Christmas tree. The atmosphere felt warm, festive, and full of happiness.
Students from Grade 1 to Grade 6 participated in the ceremony together. They followed the
dress code of red, green, and gold, which are the traditional colors of Christmas. Most of the
pupils wore red costumes, making the hall look bright and cheerful. All students gathered
neatly and prepared themselves to join the Christmas Mass.
The ceremony started with a holy Christmas Mass led by Father Romanus Wahono Wegig,
SJ. During the Mass, the students were very solemn, calm, and respectful. They listened
carefully to the prayers and songs. In his message, Father Romanus encouraged the
students to live in love, kindness, and peace. He said, “May this Christmas bless you and
inspire you to help make the world a more peaceful place.” His words motivated the students
to become better people and to care for others.
After the Mass ended, the students enjoyed a short break. All pupils received snacks and
drinks prepared by the school. They looked very excited and happy as they shared food with
their friends. The break time gave them a chance to relax and enjoy the celebration together.
After the break, the students returned to the hall for the entertainment session. Each grade
presented a special performance. Grades 1 and 2 opened the show with cheerful Christmas
songs. Their singing made the audience smile and clap happily. Next, Grades 3 and 4
performed a lively dance, showing their creativity and confidence on stage. Finally, Grades 5
and 6 presented a drama performance with a meaningful story about Christmas values. The
performances were entertaining and received loud applause from the audience.
At the end of the ceremony, the master of ceremony announced the winners of the class
decorating competition. This competition had been held in December 2025, and all classes
participated enthusiastically. Each classroom was decorated creatively with a Christmas
theme, using colorful decorations and handmade ornaments. The announcement made the
students feel proud of their hard work.
The Christmas and New Year ceremony ended at 10:45 a.m. After the event, the pupils
returned home with joyful hearts and happy memories. The ceremony was a meaningful
celebration that strengthened friendship, togetherness, and the spirit of Christmas at Strada
Cakung.
